         BÜYÜLÜBAĞ Winery

  • Location and Terroir:
    Büyülübağ is situated on Avşa Island in the Sea of Marmara, a solid granite block with decomposed granite soil, which is known for its sandy-loam terroir.  

  • Vineyards:
    The winery has 20 hectares of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, and the indigenous grape variety “Adakarasi”.  

  • Winemaking:
    Büyülübağ owner Alp Törüner experimented with wild fermentations before releasing his first commercial bottling in 2015, and they are known for their “wild ferment” Cabernet Sauvignon.  

  • Winery:
    The winery was constructed in 2004 and has a four-level facility, with a tasting room at the top level and production taking place on the other three levels.  

  • Wines:
    Büyülübağ produces a range of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, and blends like the Mirandus which features Çalkarası, Boğazkere, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.  

  • History:
    Büyülübağ was established by Alp Törüner with the vision of promoting the island’s indigenous grape variety “Adakarasi” and exploiting the potential of well-adapted grape varieties in their unique terroir.
